Over the years, computers have become an important part of people's lives. After all, where before, people only use computers for accounting or performance reports, people now turn to them for all sorts of entertainment. Computers can be easily customized and upgraded, too. In fact, many computer accessories you can add or attach to your computer to customize or keep up with the times. The HDTV tuner card is one of these accessories, and one is rapidly becoming popular television programs as a path to HD.
What are the cards HDTV tuner? HDTV tuner cards are devices that receive high definition signals, including MPEG-2 packets encoded then transmitted to an application software. Thus, work the same way as HDTV tuner boxes or Set-Top-Box (STB) that receive HD signals and displays them on your HDTV screen. Cards HDTV tuner STB are different in many respects, though, mainly due to the HDTV tuner cards are inserted or attached to a computer, while a STB connects directly to the HDTV monitor. They are better in some respects, too.
First, the tuner card hdtv allows to record and pause high-definition content – a feature that few high-end STB currently offered. They also have an improved Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and are even cheaper than most STBs. Tuner Card HDTV have some disadvantages, too, though, as the most difficult to install and that requires that your computer is turned on for it to work. This, in turn, can mean more energy consumption, and sometimes more noise.
There are two types of HDTV tuner cards. The first type is the PCI card that can fall into your computer. These are especially suitable for computers portable, making it easier to carry. PCI cards are faster, too, since it is directly connected to the motherboard, although you have to open the case to insert, which takes time and may be difficult for non-technical. Turning On the other hand, the second type, USB tuner cards are devices External simply connected to your computer.
To choose what type of tuner card to get, you have to measure their computer skills as well as the slots on the computer. If you already have too many USB devices, such as a USB keyboard, USB mouse and a USB wireless card, you may want to get a tuner card PCI, particularly because it wants a free slot for connecting the USB drive or the USB cable from your digital camera or mobile phone. You can always buy a USB hub, however. Also, keep in mind that the PCI tuner cards are more expensive, however, and increasingly rare.
Before obtaining a tuner card, however, you should first ask whether or not you really need. After all, TV tuners high definition are not always necessary. If your television high definition and comes with your HDTV tuner, rather than just a HD-Ready, then buying a tuner card is no longer necessary – Unless you want see on the monitor HDTV HDTV and both their teams.

Element HDTV showing large black rectangular box for a few shows?
I noticed this problem last week. I bought a 32-inch high element definition. For some shows this big black rectangular box shown on the screen. I can see about 3 to 4 inches on all sides of the rest of the series, but the black box makes it impossible to see that show. It is not a constant thing, sometimes the channels work well, and sometimes this appears. I have cable. I do not know how to get rid of this black box when it appears. Any ideas?
Go to the main menu and turn off the subtitles. Sounds like it is in text mode is displayed when there is a sign of it.
